The following is the history and past happenings of Final Fantasy VII: Darkness Eternal. NOT the history of any of the Final Fantasy VII spinoffs or the original game. If anything to do with them is mentioned, it is because it has something to do with Darkness Eternal's origin, nothing more. With that said, I am pleased to bring you our origin..
Final Fantasy VII: Darkness Eternal
Origin of Dark Decent
Upon the far reaches of space and time lie a massive, living organism, that would be later known as Gaia, the spirit, the entity of life. Molding itself into that of a planet, Gaia would be home to a vast new race in which it created in the image it thought fit. And thus, mankind was born anew. Gaia spawned forth from it's own innards, powerful beings, created solely for the purpose of control. To control the world Gaia so desperately wished to create upon itself. Later known as the Gods, these beings roamed the open masses of Gaia's bosom, At first there were but only two, Noah, Lord of Light... and Jinn, Lord of Darkness. The two created the very earth and it's inhabitants, thus bringing life to Gaia. Alas, it would not remain so simplistic. The two waged war on one another after centuries of the earth's construction. One grew greedy, while the other sought only peace. And so, Gaia sought the creation of order, true order. And so, spawned from the Lifestream, Gaia itself, came the last of the Gods. Shiva, Ifrit, Ramuh, Titan, Odin, Alexander, Leviathan, Phoenix, and Bahamut. Gaia also created lesser beings; the Cetra, later known as the Ancients. They possessed incredible knowledge over magic and things of nature and survival, after all, if they wished to survive, they needed just that. After awhile, however, even lesser beings were created, that being the humans. As well as the many organisms of the world.
As a result of these creations, both the greater Gods, Jinn and Noah, had created their very own fabrics of reality, their very own Realms in which they could do whatever they wish, in which they could reside. Jinn, over time, wanted only to harm Gaia and it's inhabitants, the humans and the Cetra. So Gaia banished him from ever stepping foot into the Mortal Realm. Since that happened, peace was inevitable. That is until, the human race became nearly uncontrollable. Their cities were growing exponentially, their activity; reckless. It all seemed like Gaia's creations were doing quite the opposite of what it intended. For many years their activity became more and more reckless, and soon Gaia found itself in a drastically weakened state. Not merely because of the humans, but because of the incoming calamity, falling from the skies. Jenova, an extra terrestrial being fell from space, colliding against Gaia. The blow was so intense, it weakened Gaia so much, it's very consciousness was gone, and now lay the planet, it's very spirit; dormant, and remain that way it would for many, many, many years. The wound in which the Calamity inflicted created an incredibly large, massive crater, which is know known as the Northern Crater, or North Cave.
Upon falling from the skies, the technology the humans possessed was inferior to the creatures incredible powers, and so, the Cetra and their magic were forced to step forward do do away with "The Calamity". A harsh battle was fought for a long time against the creature, the end result being the extinction of the Cetra, and what was thought to be the end of the extra terrestrial being, Jenova. However, yet again, fate had different plans. The events of Final Fantasy VII than took place, with Sephiroth nearly destroying the planet, nearly destroying Gaia's very body. That was the closest anything had ever come to bringing Gaia to it's end, and since the actions of Shin-Ra had been taking place for such a long time, Gaia's concsiousness was not yet restored, even during it's painful trials set by Sephiroth and the human race. Only the summoning of the great and terrible magic, Meteor, could awaken Gaia from his dormant sleep. And the eyes of Gaia could only be open for a short while, just enough time to release the Lifestream and protect itself. However, it seemed fate was against even Gaia, creator of the earth. For even the Lifestream was not enough to face the corrupt energy and raw power of the Black Materia, the ultimate black magic, Meteor. In the end it was HOLY that would save Gaia from total destruction. Made from the very element of light and of course Mako... Gaia saw a new hope in the human race. Their creation, in which they weakened Gaia in it's process, had tipped the scale in their favor. Perhaps the humans weren't all that bad. So instead of dismissing the human race and all their creations, Gaia returned to it's sleep, still in a weakened state, now more than ever.
Having seen the events taking place, having known the state of which Gaia was in, Jinn, Lord of Darkness, returned to the Realm of Man. It has been a long time since the dawning of time and the two first Gods, and with time things change, including the Lord of Light, Noah. Having forseen a great happening in the future, he too, like Gaia, sealed himself within a temple, where he would rest and await this upcoming threat, whatever it may be. As a result of the God's dormancy, Xiaxis, the greatest of all Arch-Angels took over. With time, he gained the true power, skill, and wisdom a God needed to be called as such. However his rule over the Angelic Realm was short lived.... for Jinn was far stronger, even with the fact that Light was his agonizing weakness. Jinn attacked the Angelic Realm, and thier battle was a fierce one. Xiaxis had fallen to Jinn in combat, and his eldest son, Zoron Albay, stepped in. Having thought the Realm was his own, Jinn did not think too highly of the Lord's son, and that was his downfall, for Zoron Albay proved to be even more skilled than his father, defeating the Dark God; something thought not possible. As a result of his defeat, the Demonic Army was driven off, and as a result of that, peace was restored once more. And so, Zoron Albay took over as Lord of Light, the power of his father being transferred to himself, and with the fusion of those powers as well as his own, Zoron would become one of the most powerful existences since Noah himself.
However, as powerful as Zoron was, the danger sensed by both Gaia and Noah was not yet sensed by him, and Gaia knew this, so a defense mechanism was created, in Gaia's current state it could not totally defend itself... and thus the WEAPONs were born. They too hiding, lying dormant within the earth's crust, beneath the ground and beyond the prying eyes of curious humans. The events of FFVII also left some of the great WEAPON creatures defeated.... dead. Their energy returned to the earth, being recognized by Gaia, it only returned their energy to their proper place, and their creation began once again, of course, only after several years would they be completely ready for combat, let alone mobilization.
Upon the conclusion of many years, Dark Knight; a half-demon born from Fort Condor had lost everything. His mother had died of an illness, his father; killed in the war. Having been trained harshly, Dark was ready for the world, even with the loss of his parents. However, he had remained at Fort Condor, protecting it from all those who wished it harm, which since the war was over, was nothing more than bandits and organized groups of hunters or vigilantes. Years would pass and the Half Demon would grow weary of his everyday regular life. He left Fort Condor in search of himself, for he had been lost since the day his mother died. Roaming the world, Dark Knight found out many things, many aspects of life and death... and of himself, his true goal. Now you find yourself asking, what does this individual have to do with this? Why, he is the very future of it.
The Lord of Darkness, Jinn, created a man. man made in his image, for it was in his nature to play "God", the main God that is. This creation was like Jinn in everyway, that is, except appearance and power level. Personality wise... all his ways of thinking... his creation was the exact same. Zamza was the creation's name... and that name would never be forgotten, especially by Jinn... his very creator. Having lived by the rules of Jinn for years, Zamza began forming his own way of thinking, becoming smarter and smarter as each day past. He began looking at things through a different perspective, through a totally different paralax than that of his lord. Jinn became aware of these rash changes in his creation, these mistakes were not supposed to happen... and fix them he would.
Zamza had different plans, though. Over the years, he had possessed a total new power that surpassed the boundries set by Jinn himself. He was not supposed to gain such power, and Jinn being the manipulative freak that he was, did not attempt to kill Zamza on his own, instead, he would send him on suicide mission after suicide mission, in an attempt to dismiss the life of his "child". Zamza had gained more knowledge than Jinn gave him credit for, he knew very well that Jinn wanted him out of the picture. He knew very well that he had regretted creating him that fateful day. And so, Zamza sought out a suitor of his own, one he could put all of his trust in... one he could hope to take over in his stead once the inevitable did happen. And so, the pursuit began. None in the Demonic Realm even came close to Zamza's needs. They were either too power hungry and greedy, or too hell bent on world destruction and/or themselves to focus on primal needs and organized planning. And so, he extended his search to the human world... where he found a most interesting Half-Demon... Dark Knight. The two were inseparable for many years, having a closer connection than Zamza and his own creator. Jinn didn't think much of Dark, and so, he didn't bother to comment on the "inferior" being. Still, the Lord of Darkness continued to try and take the life of Zamza, in a manner of which he would not be known.
Again, Zamza was ahead of his "father"... having planned his execution. Both Zamza and Dark had reached level of power that if put together, would surpass the Lord of Darkness. The hidden power sensed by Zamza, resting within Dark Knight, was what tipped the scale in the God's destruction. And as a result, the Lord of Darkness.... Jinn... was defeated in combat and killed. Zamza had taken over as the new Lord of Darkness.... and Jinn's powers had transferred to his body, the end result of his overall power was absolutely phenomenal. Jinn was no more... and Zamza was now ruler of the realm and of all dark elements.... and all dark creatures and demons alike. Those of the dark would bow to a new master, indeed. And a new general... Dark Knight, who had changed his name for his own personal reason, now being known as Dark Delias.
The power of the Jenova Cells would not be overwhelmed so easily, though. For the cells knew no limit among the body of a perfect specimen, that being Sephiroth. His power and overall ability was increasing exponentially by the day. And as long as a single Jenova Cell existed... Sephiroth existed as well. Death would not come knocking on his door until then. Even having met face to face with the reaper on more than one occasion. Once from Cloud Strife within the Northern Crater, and another upon the ruins of Midgar... again by Cloud Strife. However, since then, Sephiroth has been on a whole new level, in a whole other dimension when compared to the likes of his previous rival, Cloud. His power grew to the status one would call godly, having even over powered Zamza himself, even with his new bound power... and Dark's. Indeed, Sephiroth was the new face fo evil... however, the order and loyalty Zamza had obtained by the Realm of Darkness was great, and his barriers were incredibly power, even Sephiroth was unable to reach the Demonic Realm, Zamza's homeland. Zoron Albay, however, the Lord of Light, had went into training deep within the Angelic Plains. For years, his presence would not be known by Zamza, Dark, Sephiroth, or even his own kind. However, sensing the power of Sephirtoh, Zoron was forced to return, he too possessing a great and terrifying power, but behind his superior Arch-Angel intellect, power and overall control over things... would be the difference in the battle between the Angels and Demons.... Darkness and Light.... Gods and Creations of the Unknown.
And so there we stand. Zamza, Lord of Darkness and his General, Dark Delias; which within him was a power unlike any other, the demon locked away centuries ago by all of the gods, The Demon of the Red Abyss. Sephiroth, with his ever growing power, smashing the boundries and limits of all things. And Zoron Albay.... the Lord of Light and the only Arch-Angel still in existence. And ofcourse, Cloud Strife and his cherished friends of battles past. And of course, the ever improving forces of SOLDIER and their leader, Rufus Shinra. Colliding are the different point of views, the different wants, the different needs... the different obligations of all these beings. Colliding are their prides... their opportunities and power.... colliding are the different elements of life and death.
Now commencing The War of Heroes.
