Bone Village Quite a nifty little village. Home to many salome people, and an actual professional digging team, the only one of it's kind in the world. What use that is, I do not know, but the members of this team seem to enjoy themselves... what do you say? wanna join a digging team? Another cool thing about the village is the fact that a huge creature's skeletal remains lies above and around the village, the majority of the village is within the creature's ribcage, which tells us that whatever this creature was, it was truly massive, and apparently, it had strong bones. Chocobo Sage's House An average sized cabin virtually in the middle of nowhere. At one time you might think you're about to be snuffed out by a vicious blizzard, but than the next, you'll find yourself walking into the Chocobo Sage's cabin wall. If you need to rent a Chocobo than this is the #1 place in the world to do so. Unlike the Chocobo Ranch, here at the Sage's house you can rent Gold Chocobos, which can take you absolutely anywhere in the world, as long as you know where you're going, ofcourse. However, as you should have gathered, riding Gold Chocobos is not nearly as fast as sailing a Ship, or riding on an Airship, or for anything else for that matter. Chocobo Travel is the cheapest way to travel, so for those of you who are not exactly the wealthiest, than renting a Chocobo is the thing for you. Icicle Village Formerly "Icicle Inn". It has long since grown into a cool little village. Every building you see here is of the cabin variety. One of the most comfortable sleeps you'll have will be at the Icicle Inn, and on top of that, in the morning you can wake up to a fresh snowbed upon the land, and after breakfast you can enjoy a smooth ride down either some small hills, or down the Glacier Mountain's tricky trails. Northern Crater A truly massive crater, that is so large, in fact, that is has grown quite litterally into a great and majestic mountain. The crater itself was formed when "The Calamity" fell from the skies, and collided with the planet. "The Calamity" was than known as Jenova; an extra terrestrial being with utmost power, a power only the Ancients, the Cetra, could dissmiss. Over time, small traces of Jenova's power still remain in the crater, which attracts great and terrible monsters with power that rival even the skill of great swordsmen and wise mages. Beware when travelling to the likes of this place, for if you tread foolishly, you will die foolishly. Snowfield An ocean of snow and ice. In some areas the snow can get anywhere from 4-10 feet deep. Monstrous foes await any foolish travellers, some even as smart as to hide under the thick blanket of ice and reveal themselves when you least expect it.... and when it's too late. Modeoheim Not to far a distance away from Icicle Inn, Modeoheim was supposed to be a mako excavation site for Shin-Ra. After the village was abandoned, Shin-Ra had no more interest in excavating this site, and it became home to the Genesis Armies as their Base. Since then it has been abandoned all-out. Midgar A massive city made up of eight sectors, between each sector is a giant steel plate. Beneath the plate is a place the Shin-Ra have labeled as the Slums, alas, it is also the name the people of Midgar have come to know it by as well. The most depressing thing about the Slums though, is that the upper plate not only separates the people from the upper world, it also separates them from the very thing that we all need to live, the Sun; leaving the Slums in a quiet darkness. Above the Plate lies the Shin-Ra Headquarters, along with the people who have been bestowed the honor of living on the same level as the Shin-Ra and their SOLDIER. However, Midgar is a shadow of it's former triumphant self. It's busy streets, booming with sales and illegal activity, has been replaced by a silent cry for help, an overwhelming want for reconstruction. Edge After the events of FFVII, a small bordering town came into creation. Built around the very formation of Midgar, Edge, in some ways, has become the new Midgar, or rather, the new Slums of Midgar, for the majority of the people in Edge are former residents of the Slums. Over a short period of time, Edge has grown quite significantly, it has all the services one would need, from a comfortable Inn, to a fantastic Weapon Shop. Kalm Towers of brick surround the boarder lines of this nice town. Home to fine weapon shops and warriors with nicely honed skills. The streets are filled with playful children during the day, and at night the drunk husbands of the wives wander aimlessly, in search of their houses that seem so hard to find. Chocobo Ranch Home of Chocobo Billy. Him and his vibrant Chocobos are known throughout the world for their landspeed records and fine feathered coats. Here, you may rent a Chocobo, or if you name the right price, you can even buy a Chocobo. If that price is met, and if you throw in a little extra, your precious new Chocobo can even be held and cared for by Billy. If you have somewhere else though, than it only lessens the workload Chocobo Billy most definately has. Fort Condor A mighty fortress built to withstand even the godly forces of the Shin-Ra. Though Fort Condor still has many warriors supporting it's walls, it too is a shadow of it's former self, much like alot of the locations in Darkness Eternal. Every now and then, the fort will be attacked by bandits or other gatherings of beings that seem to want bloodshed. Most of the time, the reason for an attack is not known, this confuses the people of Fort Condor, but in the end, they cannot simply fall to the likes of mindless Barbarians or snake-like thieves. Junon Once a fishing village, until Shin-Ra stepped in and made it city built for war. It's buildings can be protected by thick walls of concrete and steel, with the flick of a switch. The once highly regarded weapon known as the "Sister Ray" resided upon the city of Junon at one time, however, with the fall of Midgar and "Sister Ray" the Shin-Ra have decided to construct a new weapon, known simply as the "Sister Ray II". It works much like the previous gun, however it may now store more power and can reload much faster, in other words, this is one city you don't want to be attacking from the sea. Under the main city streets is a small portion of Junon, that's much like it's own town. Small village-like houses sit peacefully around the base of Junon, in order to reach the upper level, where mostly everything is, you must first take a little elevator trip up, than you'll find yourself among the streets of Junon. Temple of the Ancients After the events of FFVII, the Temple of the Ancients was thought to be lost, however it had recently revealed itself for reasons unknown even to the wisest of beings. Within the Temple it is basically the same as it ever was, only now the air reaks of death and sadness, much more sadness than before. Perhaps the Ancients need something else to be done about the world? Entrance to the Temple is strictly prohibited to all who do not carry the item "Keystone". There is but one Keystone in the world, and the keeper of this said Keystone is none other than Cloud Strife, so if you think you can take it from him, be my guest. Mideel One of the most peaceful towns you can know. Filled with kind hearted elders who have left the complications of the big cities and have chosen a new home in Mideel. Years ago, this very place was prey to the monstrous Ultima WEAPON, who attacked Cloud Strife and his party at the time. Due to a large scar upon the land, the residents of Mideel were forced to alter their living arrangements, however it has not affected anything, the residents are still as cheery as ever. A nice thing to know about Mideel is that it's home to one of the world's best doctors. If you have some kind of weird condition or illness, come here. Chocobo Plains A vast ocean of grass and monsters... and as you probably guessed, Chocobos. These plains aren't regarded as hihgly dangerous, but at times, it can be as dangerous as any other place you can think of. Zolem Marsh A large puddle of a marsh. There are absolutely no monsters residing within the marsh... for a far superior, far more fearsome monster will not allow any other to live among it and it's brethren. Travel here, and you're asking for a fight with the Midgar Zolem, a thirty foot cobra with fangs just waiting... just wanting a piece of the fresh meat humans possess. Banora Village Home to the legendary Banora White, aka Dumbapples. The name Dumbapples were given because of the random growth of Banora White throughout the year, later known to be the cause of Lifestream growing them. Underground, a brave SOLDIER 1st Class, Zack Fair, fought Genesis to bring him back to sanity. This is Angeal's and Genesis' hometown, and is also the hometown of Gillian, Angeal's mother. Costa del Sol A resort town with a good energy emmitting from it, probably due to the friendly people residing there. Many different travellers meet up here, and a good number of them open up shops with priceless items, as well as good useful items. The beaches here are the absolute best in all of the world, the way the moons calm light radiates upon the sea's sparkling bosom makes you feel as if you are nothing... but in a good way. Nibelheim Birth place of the fabelled Cloud Strife, alas, it is also the birthplace of Sephiroth's insanity, for it was here where he took out his anger, his anger for the lies, for the deceit, for Hojo. Other than that though, the houses and structures built here are for families of average wealth, you find no Don Corneos around here, that's for sure. Also home to the long abandoned Shin-Ra Mansion. The townspeople have requested for it to be demolished, but Cloud Strife will simply not allow it, for his own personal reasons. North Corel Once a calm community made up of miners, now a dirty ditch, an excuse for a town, an excuse for a home. However, it does get quite a bit of social traffic, seeing as it is located at the foot of the Ropeway Station, which takes you directly to the gates of Gold Saucer. A cool history fact about the town though, is that within the town's only well, lied the first ever discovered Ultima Materia. Not too useful, but a cool fact, yes? Gold Saucer If Gold Saucer were a building of interest, it'd be a casino. Made up of several different portions, called Squares, Gold Saucer has become the place everyone wants to go, from the young children running around, to the old woman and men around the world. All the brave visitors can visit the Battle Square, to test their strength. Those jockeys out there can visit the Chocobo Square, where races are held. Desert Prison Located underneath Gold Saucer and upon the greats sands that surrounds it, the Desert Prison is the place where only the most vile of criminals are sent. There is virtually no escape from this hell, if you attempt to face the vast ocean of sand, you will not make it back, and that's a promise. Cosmo Canyon The home of Nanaki, otherwise known as Red XIII. Many hidden caves and dungeons are within the canyon itself, some even the likes of bugenhagen has not discovered in his many years of life. Monstrous foes reside within these dungeons, so it wouldn't exactly be smart to tread alone, especially since the new crater just outside of Cosmo Canyon, caused by the destruction of Ultimate WEAPON, the fragments of energy have attracted new, more powerful, monsters to worry about. With that, you know the warriors here are very strong and very skilled, after all, they need to be. Rocket Town A peaceful town that was once home to the world's first Rocket. All that remains now is the launch area and some abandoned supplies. Cid Highwind has made the entire launch area his backyard, but he treats it more like it were his actual home, his humble abode, if you will. Teens with big dreams roam the gravel streets and the grandma's of all the little children can be seen planting flowers and tending to them. Nothing too special ever happens here, so there's not too much to say about this place, just stop by, and maybe you'll become the life of the town...? That is, if Cid let's you. Ancient Forest A thick, mysterious body of forest. The exact layout of this land is not known, even by the most smartest of experts. Within the forest lives many dark beings and vicious monsters with killer tactics with but one purpose; to take you out! Once ruled by the Cetra, hence the name, this forest is also home to many ancient monsters, some the likes of Sephiroth don't even know exist. Lucrecia's Cave A massive waterfall clashes against the face of a lake, but as beautiful as it is, it's not the waterfall that deserves your admiration, it is what waits for you inside that does. A large cacoon of crystal resides inside, and within it; Lucrecia; a scientist of the highest calibur... and the birth mother of Sephiroth himself. Within the cavern in which Lucrecia resides, exists a calm breeze that is never silenced, even by the clashing of the falls that echoes quietly in the distance. Wutai Once a town of ninjas but has grown into a now prosprous city. One of the best weapon shops in the world is here, in Wutai. But the most attractive aspect of Wutai is the fabelled Pagoda Tower, numerous floors of deadly one on one challenges. No items can be used here, so make sure you're ready. Once, long ago, Wutai provided the force opposing Shinra during the much-alluded-to war in which Sephiroth himself fought, long before he went insane. Since Wutai's defeat, the economy of the once proud nation has been struggling, having to increasingly rely on tourism to bring in the Gil. Neo-Midgar Enter the city of corruption, of twisted intent, of disturbed creatures that shouldn't even exist...Originally planned for construction upon the Promised Land, Neo-Midgar still "promises" many things. Everything within the impenetrable walls is, technology, at it's finest. In the center of Neo-Midgar, lies the new Shin-Ra Headquarters, massively improved to stop anyone who isn't welcome from coming inside, especially with the addition of the "ultimate defense mechanism", as Rufus Shinra himself claims" the "Goddess Ray" able to penetrate any kind of armor, and decimate the target. Unlike the original Midgar, Neo-Midgar minimized it's sectors to a total of 5, mainly to create better security within each center. Most sector includes residential areas and shops. Others include factories, Training grounds, etc. You may travel from sector to sector by way of train or a vehicle of some kind. There is no way to get to another sector by walking alone...at least, no way the Shin-Ra want you to know about. Within every sector, and on the corner of almost all the streets, patrols are waiting for something, anything, to happen. Sometimes, instead of a human patrol, you'll find advanced cyborgs or hybrid SOLDIERs... At that point, you would be wishing for the petty human. Nothing is known about the Shin-Ra's plans, but the majority of the world's inhabitants know very well that they may have something up their sleeve. Cloud Strife and the rest of AVALANCHE await just that, so that they can, once again, put an end to what Rufus Shinra may have be planning. Realm of Darkness The Realm where demons and evil beings dwell. A dark, sacred place ruled by the Lord of Darkness, Zamza. Very strong creatures reside in this hell, and one should not foolishly venture within unless they have the knowledge of what they would be up against. It is also said that there is a very rare treasure within the Realm of Darkness, one that only the Lord, Zamza, has the right to defend. Cactuar Island A small island off the coast of the Southern Continent. Only one monster lives upon this land, and that is the troublesome beings known as the cactuar. Some travellers have said that if you're there at the right time, you'll be able to lay your eyes on Giant Cactuar, the absolute strongest of the cactuar... although many believe the Giant Cactuar is but a myth, a select few have said otherwise. Goblin Island Another small island off the coast of the Eastern Continent. Much like Cactuar Island, this too is inhabited by only one species of monster; the goblin. Many kinds of goblins, actually. Even if you are powerful, if you travel to the likes of this place alone, the bothersome goblins will be sure to trick you into doing something... and from there, they'll pick you apart piece by piece, not with combat, but with the many traps they have hidden around the island itself. Round Island Much larger than the previous two islands, Cactuar Island and Goblin Island. Looks much like a large crater that lifted from the sea. Within the crater-like island is a forest, and a pretty thick one at that. Strong monsters live here, so it would be smart to come prepared. Somewhere on the island is a cave, of which the Materia "Knights of the Round" was first found. Some like to believe another materia of KOTR will spawn, however it has not...atleast not yet. Omega Isle An island made up of mako energy and of the lifestream itself. It was created after the events of Dirge of Cerberus. Monsters of extreme speed and power dwell here, and because of that this is one of those places where you cannot survive alone, no matter how strong you think you are, no matter how much weapons you possess, you cannot be here alone, you will not live, you will cease to exist, atleast as the character you went here with. A party of atleast three is preferred when traveling here. However, some parties made up of only two very strong characters will be approved for roleplay. Mind you, it is not merely strength that determines one's superiority....
